On March 29, the 17th “Challenge Cup” National College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition, co-sponsored by the Central Committee of Communist Youth League, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the All-China Students’ Federation , and the Sichuan Provincial People's Government came to a close. NWAFU’s entries won 1 first prize and 2 third prizes at this great event.

“Research on LED Phosphors for Plant Growth with Finely Adjustable Red Light Quality” from NWAFU’s College of Chemistry & Pharmacytook the first prize, marking a historic breakthrough of our university in the natural science events of the “Challenge Cup” competition. The 2 third prizes from our university are "Research on Potential Gene Tapping and Regulation Mechanism of ‘Multiple Lambs and Fast Growth’ to Improve Goat Productivity and Germplasm Innovation” from College of Animal Science and Technology, “Wheat Grain Protein Components and Contribution of the Interaction with Starch to Quality - High-quality Germplasm ResourcesScreening Practice"from College of Agronomy.
