Young Teacher Liu Zhigang Elected in the German “Humboldt Scholars” Program

  Recently, Associate Professor Liu Zhigang from College of Food Science and Engineering in NWAFU has been selected into the German "Humboldt Scholar” Program and the "Down-Cornell Chinese Scholar” Program. It is planned that he will go to the German Institute of Human Nutrition in 2019 to conduct collaborative research with Professor Tilman Grune, a world-renowned nutritionist, and he will then go to Cornell University in the United States to collaborate with Professor Liu Ruihai, Academician of International Academy of Food Sciences as well as Professor of School of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Cornell University, and teaches students at Cornell.

  Associate Professor Liu Zhigang received his Ph.D.degree from Northwest A&F University in 2015. In 2017, he was directly employed as an associate professor at the College of Food Science and Engineering. His main research direction is the mechanism of dietary nutrition on aging and related neurodegenerative changes.At present, he has published 17 SCI papers as the first author or correspondent author in the core journals of food nutrition and biochemistry, such as Molcular Nutrition & Food Research, Free Radical Biology & Medicine.He is currently presiding over one general project and one youth project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, one special project and one general project of China Postdoctoral Fund. At the same time, he is presiding over the key research and development projects of Shaanxi Province and has been selected into the "Young Talents Lifting Plan of Shaanxi University Science and Technology Association”.
