NWAFU Students Succeeded in 2018 China Agricultural Robot Competition

On October 27th, the 2018 China Agricultural Robot Competition was successfully held at Wuhan International Expo Center in Hubei. NWAFU College of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering sent three student competition teams to participate in the event and achieved great results: the"Chengpu Team”, directed by Associate Professor Shi Yinggang, and the "Taicheng Agricultural Science Person” directed by Associate Professor Jin Hongling, teacher Chen Yu and Zhang Shuo won the second prize. The"Yongyi Team”, directed by Liu Li, won the third prize. Among them, "Chengpu Team” and "Yongyi Team” are teams composed entirely of undergraduates.

The 2018 China Agricultural Robot Competition was jointly sponsored by the National Engineering Professional Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee, China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association, China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association, and China Agricultural Mechanization Association. The theme of the competition was "Orchard Fruit Harvesting Robot”.In the competition, the robot needs to automatically recognize mature and immature fruits, and then harvest, collect and so on. The robot needs to have functions such as navigation, path planning target recognition, obstacle avoidance, fruit harvesting and collection.
