August 17th witnesses the the world's first hexaploid wheat genome completed as the the paper titled "Shifting the Limits in Wheat Research and Breeding Using a Fully Annotated Reference Genome”published on the online edition of journal Science. The paper was completed by the International Wheat Genome Sequencing Alliance. The team of Professor Song Weining, the State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Biology in the Arid Region of China, which undertook  the  substantive research work  as the only Chinese team in this programme, completed the construction of 7DL chromosome physical map and sequence deciphering.  This is also a great achievement of NWAFU in the international cooperation and exchange.
