From December 10th to 17th 2015, a delegation of 11 teachers and students, jointly selected by Orel National Agricultural University and Omsk National Agricultural University in Russia, came to visit Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University. Wu Pute, deputy president of Northwest A & F University, granted an interview to the delegation.

The visiting group attended the academic lecture related to Chinese agricultural land and agricultural economic reforms, took some Chinese cultural courses, such as Chinese Language and Calligraphy. They also visited some historical and cultural attractions, such as Terra-Cotta Warriors and Greater Wild Goose Pagoda, through which they got to have a deeper understanding of the development of Chinese Agriculture and Chinese culture.

In 2010, Orel National Agricultural University and Northwest A&F University signed the memorandum of cooperation and had academic exchanges in the fields of animal science and agronomy. In May 2015, Sergey L. Petukhovskiy, President of Omsk National Agricultural University, attended the Inauguration of University Alliance of Silk Road and President Forum of Silk Road as a member of Russian Delegation, during which, President Sergey L. Petukhovskiy , on behalf of Omsk National Agricultural University, signed the Memorandum of Cooperation with NWAFU.
