A man from State of Zheng forgets to bring the measurement of his shoe size, so he hurries back home for it. When he finally gets back to the market, the shoe store has been already closed, which leaves him no choice but being sad. This is not time-travelling, it is a scene play edited and directed by the NWAFUers. On November 13th afternoon, a revolutionary experiment of English class – extensive English course “Intercultural Communication – is going on in the multi-media classroom.
It is a call of university’s internalization strategy that the students are supposed to have their intercultural competence improved for their individualized development. That’s the reason why the reform of college English emerged at this moment. Intercultual Communication class is the epitome of the reform.
The educational goal of this 32-credit-hour course is more than learning language and culture. The course director, Ms Yan Xianhui, explains the class vividly as in, “This class is more than offering you with fishes, but teaching you how to fish. Intercultural communication skills and practical trainings will be included. Just like a windmill, as long as there is a blow of breeze, the windmill will spin itself and drive the windmills all around .”
