On October 9th, 2015 the press conference of NWAFU’s new apple varieties “Rui Yang” and “Rui Xue” was held at Baishui County, Shaanxi Province. Over 20 media including Xinhua News Agency, People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, CCTV 7 and other central and provincial media reporters, as well as related experts, leaders and guests attended the conference.
The chief expert of NWAFU Baishui Apple Experimental Station, Professor Zhao Zhengyang introduced the breeding procedures and varietal characteristics of “Rui Yang” and “Rui Xue”, and answered questions from the media with his team members.
It took more than 10 years for Zhao Zhengyang and his research team to succeed in the breeding of “Rui Yang ” and “Rui Xue”. At present, these two varieties have been authorized by Shaanxi Fruit Varieties Examination and Approval Committee.
