Xiong Yunzhang, Wang Jinggui, Su Penglin, Ma Kexi, Yang Yuzeng, Kang Yinghua, Gao Zhenhai and Li Min, 89 years old on average, are eight retired veterans alive in NWAFU. 70 years ago, they were the little soldiers who resisted Japanese aggression, and now they are the honorable veterans of People’s Republic of China. During the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, they won the Chinese people’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression Victory Medals issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the State Council and the Central Military Commission.
On August 31st and September 1st , 2015 relevant leaders of the university visited the eight veterans, awarded them the souvenir medals and 8,000 Yuan solatium on behalf of the Communist Party and the country. The veterans also received flowers and sincere wishes to their health and happiness from teachers and students of the university.
