New English Website Coming
On June 8th, Northwest A&F University English website 2015 version activated its trial run. User can either enter the site by clicking English Version on the University’s Chinese portal, or visit http://en.nwafu.edu.cn.
In the age of internet, the English portal is the NWAFU’s international name card. The leadership has been highly concerned with this revision, requesting the web-page and column design to be internationalized and the portal style should keep up with famous universities’ home and abroad. Since October 2014, Propaganda Department of Party Committee has begun to study the English portal management, establishment, operation and maintenance from renowned domestic and foreign universities.Two English teachers with overseas work experience were invited to join the program. After online opinion collection and multiple discussions, needs-based positioning and column-content designing were drafted. At the end of March 2015, opinions were again collected and analyzed, column and web page were further modified.
The big images at homepage and the dynamic information will be the major content on the revised English portal. Images are well selected to show the campus life and school culture. Information mainly covers teaching affairs and scientific research trends, so as to fully present school’s management ideology, education resources, scientific strength, and campus culture, and to provide international communication information at the service of NWAFU internationalization. Considering national and cultural differences, the new portal will accord with the language habits of the English-speaking visitors, and tell NWAFU stories and draw NWAFU images with natural and vivid English.
