President Sun Qixin Paid a Visit to Philanthropist Mr. Cyrus Tang
President Sun presented Mr Cyrus Tang with students’ calligraphy
On May 22, 2015, President Sun and heads of related departments paid a visit to Mr. Cyrus Tang, the famous Chinese-American philanthropist in Wujiang, Jiangsu Province, to extend gratitude for his patriotism and support for NWAFU. President Sun presented Mr Cyrus Tang with the calligraphy named “A favor of a drop of water should be repaid with overflowing fountains of gratitude”, which was made by the students of our university Cyrus Tang Love Club.

Since 2005, Cyrus Tang Foundation has donated 36 million RMB to our university, and has established Cyrus Tang Moral Education Scholarship, Cyrus Tang Breeding Fund, Cyrus Tang Crop Germplasm Resources Bank, Cyrus Tang Institute of Crop Breeding and the Cyrus Tang Agricultural Sci-Tech Poverty Relief Demonstration Program. It is our university’s largest public beneficial donator.
Since 2011, President Sun has paid visit to Mr Cyrus Tang for 7 times. They often exchange ideas on public welfare with international vision, discuss new thoughts on agricultural talents training and explore new ways of food security and safety together. Meanwhile, they have established deep friendship and mutual trust in developing public welfare endeavor.
