Education Background
September, 2004—April, 2007: Post doctor student in crop genetics and breeding, Institute of Crop Science/ National Wheat Improvement Center, Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences. The title of dissertation for post doctor is “Distribution of Dwarfing and Vernalization genes in Chinese Wheats and Development of Multiplex-PCR for Improving Quality Properties”.

September, 2000―June, 2004: Ph.D student, in Crop Genetic and Breeding Science, Northwest Sci-Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry. Subject of thesis was “Marker-Assisted Selection of HMW-GS Dx5 (+Dy10) Gene and Its Effect on Wheat Quality Breeding”.

September, 1989―June, 1992: Master student in Crop Genetic and Breeding Science, Northwest Agricultural University. Subject of thesis was “Inheritance Analysis of Several New Wheat Dwarfing Strains and Their Utilization in Hybrid Wheat”.

September, 1985―June, 1989: Bachelor in Agricultural Science, Northwest Agricultural University.

Work Experience
June, 2007―Now: Professor, College of Agronomy, Northwest Sci-Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry. Working on molecular-genetic basis of adaptability to specific environments and qualities in common wheat. The followings are researching:
-identify drought stress responsive proteins from wheat under water stress and clone their genes.
-detect new vernalization genes in Chinese wheat cultivars and develop their molecular markers.
-analyze distribution of photoperiod insensitive genotype in wheat cultivars released in Shaanxi detected by STS marker.
-identify allelic variations of genes for quality properties, i.e., grain yellow pigment content, grain polyphenol oxidase activity, amylase content, high (low)-molecular-weight glutenin subunits and kernel hardness in Shaanxi wheat cultivars.
-clone genes for wheat quality properties and develop their functional molecular markers.

November, 2004―May, 2007: Associate research fellow, College of Agronomy, Northwest Sci-Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry. Working on adaptability of molecular-genetic basis in Chinese common wheat in Institute of Crop Science/National Wheat Improvement Center, Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences. The followings have been finished:
-Distribution of vernalization gene Vrn-A1, Vrn-B1, Vrn-D1 and Vrn-31 in Chinese cultivars detected by STS marker.
-Distribution of dwarfing genes Rht-B1b, Rht-D1b and Rht8 in Chinese bread wheats detected by molecular marker.
-Development of multiplex PCR assays targeting improvement of bread-making and noodle qualities in common wheat.

January, 2000―October, 2004: Associate Research Fellow, College of Agronomy, Northwest Sci-Tech University of Agriculture and Forestry. Working on inheritance and breeding of wheat quality, as well as wheat breeding of endurance drought:
-Converged many genes coding good HMW-GS for baking quality into Chinese cultivars from France cultivars, developed some wheat lines with good HMW-GS.
-Studied inheritance of wholemeal SDS sedimentation value and swelling volume in common wheat in Shannxi central plain, applied the index of wholemeal SDS sedimentation value in wheat breeding.
-Analyzed potentiality of swelling index of glutenin in application of wheat early generation quality screening, used the index in wheat quality breeding.
-Found that the induced-protein whose molecular weight was appropriately 66.2 kD, considered as the molecular marker to choose and identify drought resistant wheat.
-Developed three wheat cultivars with other fellows registered by Shannxi Province and one wheat cultivars with resistance drought registered by Henan Province.

July, 1992―December, 1999: Assistant Research fellow, Department of Agronomy, Northwest Agricultural University. Worked on inheritance and breeding of hybrid wheat. Developed the K-type and V-type cytoplasmic male-sterility wheat lines, as well as studied on the utilization of them for hybrid wheat production.
