Academic and Research achievements:
Many genetically stable intermediate materials and germplasm materials were created by crossing wheat with Elytrigia elongatebarley, Tritileymus, Dasypyrum villosum and Psathyrostachys huashanica Keng.. 8 new wheat varieties Xiaoyan 15, Xiaoyan 22, Xiaoyan 128, Xiaoyan 166, Xiaoyan 216, Xiaoyan 58, Xiaoyan 68, Xiaoyan 269 varieties were bred.  Among these new wheat cultivars, Xiaoyan 22, Released by the National Crop Variety Approval Committee of China, has been the main wheat variety in Shaanxi since 2000 and the backbone variety in the sixth provincial wheat variety renewal of Shaanxi; Xiaoyan 22 won the First Provincial Scientific and Technological Award of Shaanxi( ranking as the third participant) in 2001, and the extension of Xiaoyan 22 won the third provincial Agricultural Extension Award of Shaanxi ( ranking as the fourth participant) in 2003 and the extension of Xiaoyan 22 as the variety certified by the National Crop Variety Approval Committee of China won the Second National Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fishery FENGSHOU Award of China ( ranking as the first participant) in 2005.
