He Peiru, male, was born in Jul, 1944 in Mei county, Shaanxi Province; Professor of College of Agronomy, Northwest A&F University; member of China Agriculture High-Tech Committee, national expert with outstanding contribution, the National May 1 Labor Medalist

III. Education and Working Experience
In 1963, Mr. He graduated from the Agricultural School of Wugong in Shaanxi Province, and worked in Long County as an extension person. In 1978, he was enrolled by Northwest Agriculture University to study as a master candidate. Since 1981, he is working in the University so far.
 

IV. Academic Achievements
Since 1970’s, Professor He has thrown himself into the research on wheat sterilization and hybridized wheat development. To solve genetic defect of foreign wheat sterile lines, he established three lines combinations based on the sterile line with Ae. kotschyi Cytoplasm (K-type) in 1987, which was entitled the one of the Chinese Ten Science and Technology Achievements in 1988 by Science and Technology Daily. Using a K-Type sterile line, the first high-heterosis wheat hybrid crosses with strong superiority “Xinong 901” was developed and successfully passed variety approval in 1995. This achievement was entitled the one of the Chinese Ten Science and Technology Achievements in 1995. Professor He was also entitled as one of the Ten News Figures of Science and Technology in Shaanxi Province in the same year.

In the poverty relief work of science and technology, cooperated with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Professor He directed and developed triticale variety Zhongqin No.1 and No.2 which have been widely used in high and cold area of Qinba Mountain.

Recently Professor He directed projects funded by National High-Tech Research and Development Program 863,　as well as Wheat Breeding Technology Attack Plans in Shaaxi Province---

Thanks for above funding, the research group of Professor He has successfully established YS-type temperature-sensitive sterile lines suitable for the main production areas of wheat in China and double-lines wheat hybrid production system with simple and low cost techniques. This achievement was finished identification in Jun, 2004, and “Development of YS-type Temperature-sensitive Sterile lines and Research on Genetic Characteristics” got the second class of Science and Technology Progress Award in Shaanxi Province.
 

V. Publications and Teaching Achievement
So far, 106 papers was published in the Journal of domestic and abroad, three works were pressed. Professor He has received nine awards of Science and Technology and holds three invention patents. Thirty-three master students and ten doctoral candidates finished their research work and obtained the academic degree under the guidance of Professor He. He was entitled as Excellent Teacher by Ministry of Agriculture in 1984. From 1988 to 1990, he received the title of National Advanced Individual of National Unity and Advanced Individual of National Unity and Progress in Shaanxi Province for the outstanding achievement to support Tibet National Education
