2002–2005: Postdoctoral research on Natural Geology in Institute of Geography Science and Natural Resources Research, Beijing, China;
2005–2012: Associate professor at the College of Water resources and Architectural Engineering of Northwest A & F University. Teaching on Stochastic Hydrology, Water quality and Water Environment, Hydropower planning and Water related disasters; researching on soil and water movement, slope land hydrology.
2008-2009: visiting scholar at Iowa State University, USA
