rofessor Zhou Shihui, born in Yiyang, Hunan Province in September 1980, is a MA student supervisor of Sociology in College of Humanities, Northwest A&F University. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Literature and Language from Capital Normal University in 2002, Master’s Degree from the poetry research center of Capital Normal University in 2005, and Doctoral Degree from Beijing Normal University in 2008 respectively. She now is the Associate Professor at College of Humanities in Northwest A&F University since 2008.

Research Fields
Professor Zhou’s research areas range from linguistics and Literature to Chinese literature and culture. Within the area of linguistics and literature, she is interested in literary stylistics, especially in the Poetic Elements in Yue Fu and Its Relevance to Music .The research considers the original status of Yuefu-poetry is a systematic set of many kinds of entertainments including poems, music, dance and drama. This study has most relationship with the early Chinese drama and Chinese popular narrative ballads. In the areas of Chinese literature and culture, Her research interest concentrates on the Books of songs and the formation of Chinese Traditional Farming Culture in Shaanxi province.

Courses & Subjects
Professor Zhou is mainly dedicated to the teaching and research of College Chinese literature and language, Literature appreciation——from the book of songs to poetry of the Tang Dynasty, etc. for undergraduate students.

Academic Achievements
In recent years, Professor Zhou has hosted one Ministry of Education Fund Plan Project and one Shaanxi Province Social Science Fund Project. She now has edited 3 books such as Research on the styles of Yuefu-poetryAppreciation of Li yu’s poem, and Research on the Qinqu Lyric. She also published 13 papers in such journals as Agricultural Archaeology, Yuefu study, Chinese Literature and history, Literature & Art Studies, Master Pieces Review, Yanhuang culture research and Journal of Chinese Verse Studies and so on. Due to her excellent achivements in research and teaching work, she was awarded to be the second-class award scholarships of Young teachers lecture competition in Northwest A&F University in 2008 and the third prize of outstanding achievements in Humanities and social science research of colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province in 2011.
