I. Basic Information
Wang Yi, male, was born in 1955, professor of College of Agronomy, Northwest A&F University. He was graduated from the specialty of agronomy of the College of Northwest Agriculture in Mar, 1977. Since from Oct, 1978, he worked on wheat breeding in the Institute of Food Crop Research, Shaanxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Shaanxi Wheat Research Center; and the Institute of Wheat, College of Agronomy, Northwest A&F University,
 

II. Research Interests
Wheat genetics and breeding.
 

III. Academic Achievement
Released varieties and awards
As a key member of wheat breeding group, Professor Wang bred and released Shaannong 7859, Shaan 229, Shaan 213, Shaan 160 etc, wheat varieties, and received the first- and third- class award of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first-, second-, and third- class award of Science and Technology Progress Award in Shaanxi Province, respectively. Since 1997, has shared special government allowances of State Council of China.

Projects
Directed Projects include "Research on super-high yield materials and high-yield traits of wheat”(Project No. 19960102034 ); "Development of new wheat variety with increased yield potential, improved quality, multi-resistance and high efficiency”(Project No. 2006kz06-G1-08); ""Development of new wheat variety and Innovation of wheat germplasm”(Project No. 2009K02-05); and involved in the project of National Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation Foundations.

Publication
Over 10 papers were published in Acta Agriculturae Boreali-occidentalis Sinica, Journal of Triticeae Crops, etc.
