Fan Junfeng, male, born in December 6, 1962, now is a research fellow (Professor), a supervisor for master degree students majoring in forest tree genetic and Improvement, College of Forestry, Northwest A & F University.
 

Education and Overseas Studying
1980-1984, study at Northwest College of Forestry, Shaanxi Province, P. R. China. Major in forestry, received Bachelor’s degree in July, 1984.
1991, study at Forest Institute of New Zealand as visiting scholar for half a year, Major in forest tree genetic and improvement, New Zealand.
1998-2002, study at Northwest A & F University, Shaanxi Province, P. R. China. Major in pomology, received Ph.D. degree in July, 2002.
2010, study at the University of Tennessee as visiting scholar for one year, Major in plant biotechnology, United States.

1984-1998, working in Shaanxi Academy of Forestry, research mainly focus on
1. Selection and breeding of Paulownia tree species

1. Introduction of Pinus nigra var. austriaca and Pseudotsuga menziesii.
2. Poplar tree breeding
3. Genetic improvement of Pinus tabulaeformis.
2002～Present, giving lecture to master degree students mainly on poplar tree breeding as well as genetic improvement of Pinus tabulaeformis. Carr.
 

Main Research Projects now in Charge of
1. Selection and breeding of new varieties of populus tree ( poplar ), supported by State Forestry Administration and Shaanxi Sci-tech Department, Shaanxi Province.
2. Genetic improvement of Pinus tabulaeformis (Chinese pine), as well as establishment of seeds orchard, supported by State Forestry Administration and Shaanxi Sci-tech Department, Shaanxi Province.
Academic Awards
1. Selection and Breeding of Superior Clone of Shan Tong No.1 and Shan Tong No.2, won the third prize for science and technology progress, awarded by Shaanxi Province Government, 1989.
2. Selection and Breeding of Superior Clone of Shan Tong No.3 and Shan Tong No.4, won the third prize for science and technology progress, awarded by Shaanxi Province Government, 1996.
3. Introduction of Poplar 84K and Its Genetic Improvement, won the first prize for science and technology progress, awarded by Shaanxi Province Government, 2005.
