CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS
To date, my work has focussed on the herbivore-inducec plant defenses, the chemical ecology and the resistant cultivar selection of jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.). For a given system, all three of these themes can be explored.
1. Herbivore-inducec plant defenses.
My work has focussed on the insect-induced conifer defense by Gravitarmata margarotana (Tortricidae) and jujube defense by Ancylis sativa Liu (Tortricidae, Lepidoptera). Meanwhile, I am also interested in herbivore-induced plant volatile priming neighbore-plant defenses.
2. Chemical communication within plants and between plant and insect.
My work has focused on host selection and chemical communication of coniferous cone and fruit moths, Such as Dioryctria pryeri Ragonot (Pyralidae, Lepidoptera), the oriental peach moth, Carposina niponensis Walsingham (Carposinidae, Lepidoptera).
