1. Basic Information
Wei Anzhi, male, Han nationality, born in Fufeng county of Shaanxi Province in August 1961. He is a professor and a doctoral supervisor. In 1983 he graduated from the Northwest Forestry University. In December 2006 he got his doctoral degree at Northwest A&F University.
In 1999 he began to enjoy special government allowances. In 2001 he was named an expert who had made outstanding contributions to Shaanxi Province. In 2002 he was awarded as one of “Three-five Talent” (the second group) in Shaanxi Province. He is a ministrial appraisal expert who evaluates science and technology achievements, and he is a member of Shaanxi Senior Experts Association. He is also a vice President in Plum and Apricot Branch of Chinese Horticultural Association. And now, he is the chairman of college council of Forestry Institute.

He has already trained 17 postgraduate students. And now 7 students are studying for a master's degree and 2 for doctoral degree under the supervision of him.
 

4. Academic Achievements
Since 1983, he has been engaged in the selection, cultivation and hereditary improvement of superior forest varieties. The Well-Bred Paulownia—Hybrid 1 and Breeding 1" won the Second Prize in Scientific and Technological Progress of Shaanxi Province in 1986, and in 1994 "Well-Bred-Paulownia-Breeding 2" won the Second-class Prize in Scientific and Technological Progress of Shanxi Province. In 2001 "the research of early choice of paulownia choiceness clones" he hosted won the Third-class Prize in Science and Technology Progress of Shaanxi Province. In 2005 "the research of the construction of apricot cultivation base and the selection, cultivation and hereditary improvement of fine seeds in the northern of Shaanxi" he hosted won the Second-class Prize in Science and Technology Progress Prize of Shaanxi Province. And in 2009 the Extension project he hosted on drought and cold resistance and cultural techniques of the "apricot for almond" in the Northwest of Shaanxi won the Second-class Prize in Extension of Sciense and Technology of Shaanxi Province.
The current projects he is in charge of include: developing anti-freeze and selecting anti-freeze breed of apricot which is the major science and technology program of Shaanxi; the introduction of transgenic poplar and Phytoremediation technology of soil polluted by cadmium, as one of the "948" projects of State Forestry Administration; the developing and selecting of anti-frost breed of pepper, as one of the key projects of Shaanxi, rainwater-collecting microirrigation of jujube and technology demonstration of selecting anti-frost apricot-for-almond which is the Extension project of State Foresty Administration.
In recent years, he has successively published more than 40 papers in "Analytical Chemistry", "Acta Botanica Boreali-Occidentalia Sinica", "Forestry Science Journal", "Analysis of Plant Breeding Journal". He published 3 books as a chief-editor and 3 ones as an associate editor.
