  Introduction of Speaker:

  Dr. Meng Zhang is a Professor in the College of Agronomy, Northwest A&F University, specializing in plant lipid metabolism and bioengineering of oil crops. He obtained his Ph.D. of Agronomy in 2001 at College of Horticulture, Northwest A&F University. 2001-2005, he did postdoctoral researches in the Institute of Plant Sciences, Agricultural Research Organization Volcani Center,Israel,engaged in plant lipids and stress resistance; 2006-2008, he worked in the Plant Biotechnology Institute, National Research Council of Canada, engaged in plant lipid metabolism and energy plant; 2008-2010, he worked in the Department of Plant Biology, Michigan State University, USA, engaged in Plant lipid metabolism and energy plants; He joined in College of Agronomy, Nowrthwest A&F University as a full professor and group leader on plant lipid metabolism and bioengineering of oil crops. His main findings, including identification of the two pathways and regulators in triacylglycerol biosynthesis and cosuppression in bioengineering, in the Plant Cell, Plant Journal, Plant Physiology and the Journal of Experimental Botany. His research is funded by grants of National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC), Key Innovation projects and international cooperation of Shaanxi province, and Cyru Tang Foundation.
