Title:(1)Application and progress of proteomics and metabonomics in life science research
Speaker: Dubravko Justic
Time: 9:00-11:00, 27 October, 2017
Venue: 203 room of State Key Laboratory of soil erosion and Dryland Farming on the Loess Plateau, Institute of soil and water conservation
Content:
Professor Dubravko Justic is Texaco Distinguished Professor in the Department of
Oceanography and Coastal Sciences at Louisiana State University, USA. Previously, he was Eric
L. Abraham Distinguished Professor in Louisiana Environmental Studies and Director of LSU’s
Coastal Ecology Institute. His research interests include ecosystem modeling, coastal eutrophication, hypoxia, and potential impacts of climate change on coastal ecosystems. He has studied extensively the low oxygen zone in the northern Gulf of Mexico and employed
various numerical simulation models to describe controls of environmental factors on hypoxia
and predict the consequences of management actions.

Title:(2)A three-dimensional fully coupled wave-current-sediment model on unstructured grids and its application to the Mississippi River delta and adjacent continental shelf
Speaker:Haosheng Huang
Time: 9:00-11:00, 27 October, 2017
Venue: 203 room of State Key Laboratory of soil erosion and Dryland Farming on the Loess Plateau, Institute of soil and water conservation
Content:
Dr. Haosheng Huang is an associate professor in the Department of Oceanography and Coastal Sciences, Louisiana State University. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Physical Oceanography in 2003 from Florida State University. Dr. Huang has played an important role in the development and application of computer models for the study of coastal hydrodynamics, regional physical oceanography, wave‐current interaction, estuarine circulation, and physical‐biogeochemical
interaction. He is also working on coupled wavecurrent‐sediment dynamics and evaluation of marine environmental changes caused by various coastal restoration projects.
