Introduction of Speaker:
Porf. Dr. med. Shanting Zhao, got the title of Medical Doctor in Germany. Now he is a distinguished Professor in College of Veterinary Medicine and the "Hundred Talents Program" Distinguished Expert of Shaanxi Province.  From 1980 to 1985 he studied human medicine in Binzhou Medical College. In 1988 he got the Master Degree in Xinjiang Medical University and then worked as lecture there. From 1997 to 2010 he stayed in Germany and worked as visiting Scholar, Doctor, Postdoctor and assistant Professor (C1) successively. Since 2011 he has been Professor in Northwest A&F University. He gives lectures on Histology and Embryology for students and lectures on Neurobiology for postgraduates. His research interest is neuroscience. He is famous for his studies in brain development and high-pressure freezing technique. He chairs two projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and two key projects of Shaanxi Province and Ministry of Education. As key member he participated in 4 special programs (SFB, Sonderforschungsbereich) of German Research Foundation (DFG, Deutsche Forschunsgemeinschaft). He has published over 100 papers. Part of them were published in leading journals, for example, 《Nature Reviews Neuroscience》、《Nature Protocols》、《Journal of Neuroscience》、《Development》、《Journal of Comparative Neurology》、 《Scientific Reports》、《Cerebral Cortex》. The total impact factor is over 230. The impact factor of 《Nature Reviews Neuroscience》 is 31.7. He was invited to give speech in many conferences. He was invited by Peking University, Zhejiang University and The third Military Medical University to give lectures about brain development, high-pressure freezing technique and live-imaging with laser confocal microscope. He is common member of Society for Animal Welfare and Health Breeding, member of Society for Animal Anatomy and Histology and Embryology, member of Society for Biomedical Photon.
