Topic 1: The Theory and Practice of Water and Sediment Regulation of the Yellow River

Speaker: Hu Chunhong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering

Speaker Profile:

Prof. Hu Chunhong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, is the deputy director of China institute of water resources and hydropower research at present. Prof. Hu Chunhong won the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Science & Technology Award for Chinese Youth, Qian Ning science and Technology Award , and enjoy the State Council Special Allowance. He engaged in the theory and application research on mechanics of sediment transport, the evolution of riverbed and river training for long time. He hosted and participated the National Key Basic Research Program of China (973 program), National Key Technologies R & D Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, international and provincial cooperative projects, and so forth. He has ever won three second class prizes for National S&T Progress Award and fifteen provincial S&T Progress Award.

Topic 2: Ecological Retention and Purification technology of Agricultural non-point source pollution and its application

Speaker: Wang Chao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering

Speaker Profile:

Prof. Wang Chao, an academician of the China Engineering Academy, is the vice-president of HoHai University, the chief scientist of National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program), the member of National Environmental Advisory Committee, the member of Science and Technology committee, Ministry of Water Resources, the vice-chairmen of water Environmental professional of Chinese Society For Environmental Sciences and environmental water conservancy professional of Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society, the director of Key Laboratory of Integrated Regulation and Resource Development on Shallow Lakes, Ministry of Education, The chief science leader of Environmental Engineering, the key discipline of Jiangsu province. He Long engaged in teaching and research work of water resources protection and water quality improvement, which is closely related with the production and people’s livelihood. He led the team to focus on theoretical research, technology development and engineering practice, and making prominent contributions to our country. The number of research projects that Prof. Wang Chao hosted and participated more than 70, which include the National Key Basic Research Program of China (973 program), the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China ( 863 Program), National Natural Science Foundation of China, and so forth. He has won one second class National Prize of Natural Science, two second class prizes for National S&T Progress Award.
