Introduction
Prof. Yoshiyasu Fukuyama has completed his Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from Osaka City University in 1975 and then he spent three years as a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. J. D. White at Oregon State University, USA. He moved to the institute of Natural Products Chemistry at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. He has been working as a professor at Tokushima Bunri University since 1988, and now is dean of the faculty of pharmaceutical sciences. He has published more than 200 SCI papers in reputed journals, such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Org. Lett., J. Org. Chem., J. Nat. Prod., and serving as an editorial board member of Chem. Pharm. Bull. He and his research group focus their research interests on chemistry and biology of neurotrophic natural products.
