Biography of Tianbao Yang:
Dr. Tianbao Yang is a Research Plant Physiologist at Food Quality Laboratory, USDA-ARS in Beltsville, Maryland.  He received his Bachelor degree in Agronomy and Master degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding from Nanjing Agricultural University, China. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Plant Genetics and Molecular Biology from Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.  He performed his postdoctoral work on plant molecular biology at Washington State University.  He was appointed to Assistant and Associate Research Professor there before joining USDA-ARS.  His research area is on plant molecular biology, postharvest biology and horticultural genomics.  His current research program focuses on the understanding of genetic and biochemical mechanisms determining fresh produce quality and shelf life. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 papers. Many of his publications have appeared in high impact journals such as Nature, PNAS, and Journal of Biological Chemistry.
