Title: Enhancement of corn seed vigor and longevity through regulation of raffinose metabolism pathway
Speaker: Tianyong Zhao
Time: 7 pm, October 19, 2015
Venue:S3409
Introduction of Speaker:
Dr. Tianyong Zhao, Professor, received his B.S. degree in Pomology from Hebei Agricultural University and his Ph.D. degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding from China Agricultural University in Beijing, China. Dr. Zhao joined the college of Life Sciences at Northwest A&F University in 2011. Dr. Zhao’s research interest focus on the investigation of the function and regulatory mechanism of maize galactinol synthase (ZmGOLS), raffinose synthase (ZmRAFS) and alkaline galactosidase genes (ZmAGA) in raffinose metabolism pathway. His reserach goal is to determine if it is practical to improve maize stress tolerance through regulation of raffinose metabolism pathway.
