2. Research and Teaching
Research interests:
Our research area is population medicine in the dairy cow. We are focusing on the prevention of diseases in the transition period, such as ketosis, fatty liver, hypocalcemia, metritis, mastitis, etc. Meanwhile, we also study the prevention of diarrhea in the preweaning calf. We have devoted our research to dairy science and clinical work for more than 20 years. We have a very good connection with a local farm which is convenient to access. We have intensive cooperation with universities in western countries such as Ghent University (Belgium) and the University of Guelph (Canada), which are at the top of the QS Ranking list in veterinary medicine. Candidates who are interested in diseases of dairy cows, want to devote themselves to the research of dairy cows in the future, and have a certain research foundation are welcome to apply for Ph. D student of our team.
The following are the datils of my research.
Subclinical inflammation of transition cow.
We carry out research on the etiology and pathogenesis of important mass nutritional metabolic diseases of dairy cows, establish an indicator system for early diagnosis, screen the markers that cause the disease of cows at the cellular and molecular level, and explore the mechanism of mass disease caused by metabolites;
Epidemiological methods were used to study the distribution and influencing factors of important mass nutritional metabolic diseases in dairy cows. The evaluation of the drug, The technical specification, and the prevention and control measures will be carried out.
Key technologies for early herd monitoring, early prediction, and risk assessment of dairy cows will be established by combining big data and Internet of Things technologies.
Teaching:
Veterinary clinical pathology for bachelor students.
Veterinary technology for doctoral students.
