  Ph.D Program in Crop Science

  Guided by the major missions and features of safeguarding national food security and developing agriculture in arid regions, Ph.D Program in Crop Science integrated systematic curriculum learning and research training to cultivate crop-related research, teaching and industry management professionals with solid basic theory and disciplinary foundation, international mindset, and comprehensive development in moral, intellectual and physical qualities to serve agricultural modernization in the arid regions of northern China and global food security.

  Graduates of the program mainly are engaged in management and research work on crop varieties selective breeding, germplasm resources innovation, crop cultivation and management, agricultural zoning, crop production practice and basic theoretical research in agriculture-related universities and institutes. Ph.D candidates systematically and profoundly trained in scientific research shall comprehend the history, status and trends of crop science and relevant laws and regulations on science and technology policy, intellectual property rights and research ethics, acquire the needed capacities for crop science research and solving problems in production, possess capacities in mathematical, quantitative analysis and model induction and refinement and manners for teamwork and cooperation in the scientific research, master the latest theories and related technologies of the discipline, and command excellent academic ethics and capabilities for scientific research, academic exchange and technology innovation.

  Master Program in Crop Science

  Master Program in Crop Science manipulated systematic learning and research training to foster advanced personnel with solid basic theory and specialized knowledge, needed skills and methods, and preliminary capabilities for agricultural production, teaching, research, management and extension.

  Graduates of the program are trained to be legally concerned, morally upright, diligent, truth-seeking and innovative, to have a solid theoretical foundation and in-depth professional knowledge of crop science, to systematically master the theory, research methods and research techniques, to be competent for teaching, research and technical management jobs, to acquire basic skills in agricultural production, scientific research, social services, to command one or two foreign languages for foreign professional literature reading, papers writing and international academic exchanges; to actively participate in physical exercise and cultural activities, and to be physically and psychological healthy and adaptive to teamwork.
