His major is soil science，especially for soil chemistry, He mainly focuses on the research of soil organic carbon, soil amelioration and recycling utilization of agricultural wastes. He participates in some national or provincial research projects as principal investigator. So far, he has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, which mainly focus on mineralization and fraction changes of organic matter during agriculture wastes composting, and SOM changes in crop land with different fertilization, biochar application and tillage system.
