Environment Impact Simulation and Assessment of Biomass Utilization of Caragana Plantation in Loess Plateau |
PI |
This project proposes that planting energy crop (Caragana) in these lands and using the biomass to produce pellet fuel could ensure sustainable utilization of returning lands, relief government pressure and strengthen Grain for Green achievements. By field measurements and inventories of sample plots of caragana stands, energy and raw materials consumption in pellet fuel facility, capital and operational costs and cost of supply chain after optimization, we construct life cycle assessment and techno-economic models to evaluate the environmental and economic impact of pellet fuel production. |
