Introduction of Speaker:

Dr.Yongling Ruan is currently a professor at University of Newcastle, Austrilia. Dr. Ruan received his Bachelor and Master degree from Zhejiang University in 1983 and 1986, respectively. Dr. Ruan went on to study in Austrilia and received his Ph.D. degree majoring in plant physiology and cell biology from University of Newcastle in 1996. He got his post-doc training at University of Florida in U.S.A during year 1996 and 1997. After that, he worked as a research fellow and then was promoted to an associate professor, full professor in the University of Newcastle. Dr. Ruan’s current research is focused on sugar metabolism and transportation. He has been successfully funded by many grants and has published 81 peer reviewed papers in top journals, such as Trends in Plant Science, Plant Cell, Molecular Plant, etc. He is currently the associate editor of Molecular Plant.
