On the evening of September 28th, the final competition of the 17th College English Speech Contest of Northwest A&F University and the qualification trials of "FLTRP Cup” National English Public Speaking Contest was held in the second floor of lecture hall of Department of Foreign Languages.

After the earlier stage college preliminary and university-level preliminaries, 15 contestants stood out. The topic of this contest is "The Stones”, which includes three parts: the prepared speech, the impromptu speech, and the on-site question and answer. During the competition, the contestants first gave a wonderful speech centering the theme. They showed the comprehensive strength of NWAFU students with smooth and beautiful oral expression as well as sound and solid English foundation, which won the unanimous approval of the judges. The topic of the impromptu speech was selected by drawing before the first ten minutes of the individual speech. The on-site question was asked by foreign teachers based on the content of the contestant's speech. In the two sessions, the contestants won the applause of the audience with a smart and sensitive on-site response as well as calm and steady stage style.

Ma Fengqi from Department of Foreign Languages won the first prize, three students including Chen Yutao from College of Life Science won the second prize, and other five students including Wang Zibo from College of Humanities won the third prize. Ma Fengqi will represent NWAFU to participate in the provincial final of the "FLTRP Cup” National English Public Speaking Contest.
