Professor Tang Derui
1. Basic Information
Tang Derui, male, born in Oct. 1961 in ZhouZhi county of Shaanxi Province, Professor, doctorial tutor. Tang DerRi was graduated from Northwestern College of Forestry in 1982, and get his Ph D. degree in Stephen F. Austin State University in 1989; From Oct. 1999 to now, working in Northwestern A&F University. Early or late, Tang DeRui was nominated as member or standing member in the Social Development Strategy Association, Forestry Association, Disaster Alleviation Association and Ecology Association in Shaanxi Province, and also as an member in Chines Forestry Association and Chines Ecology Association etc. Deputy director in Academic Advisory Committee of ministricial silviculture lab. on loess plateau, general director of Academic Advisory Committeein Shaanxi Academy of Forestry etc.


2. Research Fields
Silviculture, forest ecology, protection forest, structure and function of ecosystem etc.


3. Courses
Tang DeRui was permanently engaged in teaching and researching on silviculture and forest ecology in the Uniersity, and has undertaken courses for undergraduates, graduate and doctoral students on 1) modern silviculture technology and application, 2) silviculture research methodology, 3) seed physiology and plant breeding, 4) silviculture, and 5) professional English for forestry etc.
Currently 10 master's degree and 1 Ph.D graduates have been trained, and 9 master's degree and 2 Ph.D graduates were in the university.


4 Academic Achievements
More than 16 national and provincial key projects were directed or participated during his academic experience, among those 16 projects, 1 won 2nd-class national science & technology progress prize, 6 won 2nd-class provincial or ministerial science & technology progress prizes, and 3 won 3rd-class provincial or ministerial science & technology progress prizes. Among awarded projects, (1)the site classification and selecting trees matching the site on Loess Plateau in China was won 2nd-class national science & technology progress prize in 1987; (2)the site classification and selecting trees matching the site in Shaanxi Loess plateau was won 2nd-class provincial science & technology progress prize in 1985; (3)the site classification and selecting trees matching the site in Shaanxi Loess plateau was won 2nd-class ministerial science & technology progress prize in 1986; (4)The construction of demonstration forest for protection forest system on loess plateau was won 3rd-class ministerial science & technology progress prize in 1993; (5)The construction technology for protection forest in Yangtze river valley of Shaanxi province was won 2nd-class provincial science & technology progress prize in 1997; (6)The construction technology and benefits for protection forest in Han river valley was won 3rd-class ministerial science & technology progress prize in 1997; (7)The construction mode of Weibei eco-economical protection forest on the loess plateau was won 2nd-class provincial science & technology progress prize in 1999; (8)The high-effective fertilizer processing and application for Eucommia ulmoides forest was won 3rd-class provincial science & technology progress prize in 2004. Edited and published 5 books and monographs, and more than 100 papers. For many year's creative results, Tang was appraised as national outstanding young and middle-aged expert.
