Introduction:
R. Bruce King was educated at Oberlin College (BA 1957), and Harvard University (PhD 1961). After working at du Pont and the Mellon Institute he joined the University of Georgia in 1966. Prof. King is currently involved in research projects in computational inorganic and organometallic chemistry in collaboration with groups at Babes–Bolyai University (Romania), Xihua University, and Northwest Northwest A&F University (China). Prof. King published more than 700 scientific papers, including Chem. Rev. (3), J. Am. Chem. Soc. (96), Angew. Chem. (2), Chem. Commun. (6) etc. He served as a Regional Editor of the Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, as Editor-in-Chief for the first two editions of the Encyclopedia of Inorganic Chemistry, and as Associate-Editor of Coordination Chemical Review.
